if you change the rules, you change the door.

I'll be honest. My first reaction was fear. But after a walk around the block, I think I've got a better handle on it.

We've lost too many people here. And not because of some stupid reason boredom or attrition. Really lost. And the hardest part is knowing some of it happened because of the rules we set. The ones meant to keep us safe.

Safe. But not all of us.

By now we all know the real ones when we see them. We know they're about to wake, we can't step in, and we just sit on our hands. They don't even hit their first birthday.

I'm not saying one way or the other, but I’m open to a bit of discourse on it.

In a day and age where true anonymity has a bigger asking price than gold. I don't know about you all, but it feels like time is catching up to us. Maybe we can choose it to be on our own terms.
If we do, just know we will all have to become sharper, to parse through the deluge of hoaxes from the uninitiated. Maybe that's for the best. Maybe age dulls you, and this will hone us back. And Imagine. Imagine we get a glimpse of the real thing...

I for one am for it, as I have been for some time now. We're all aware of the dangers that lie hidden in the dark and yet into the darkness we continue to peer nonetheless. I say we light the flame and let the moths flock.

I don't like it. The article may hit closer to home for some of us. I know that paper. It is still around. I've learned my lesson and keep a safe distance from our interests now. The last thing any of us need are people coming here and shining a light on us to satisfy their curiosity, if it even is curiosity that is motivating them.

My instinct is that if we're not all for it, we don't do it. There's too much time and history here that bind us all. I think even a basic ██████ would be able to find any one of us.

This isn't a decision we'll make lightly. And if we decide together that we want to do it, we need to figure out how we do it safely and give folks a little time to protect themselves.

You know this paper? It's still around?
Can you look into what articles were headlining on the date of the original (May 15) on the following yearly anniversaries of the dissapearance:
1st, 3rd, 8th, 10th, 11th, 33rd, 66th and this year's?

Now, I know ChatGPT isn't always right, and I know I will need to verify this information, but good god damn, did it just get fucking cold in here all of a sudden.

I don't know if I can do this any more. I have a lot to lose now.

I have to think about this.
