[X]FIRST HAND - [ ]SECOND HAND - [ ] QUESTIONABLE
DATE OF ENCOUNTER: 12/09/93
TIME: Between 12am-1am
SUSPECTED ENTITY: Dimensional Anomaly? Maybe?
APPLICABLE MYTHOS: None?
LOCATION: Vancouver, BC, CA
I feel like this isn't nearly as big of a deal as many of the other incidents, but I thought it was worth mentioning anyways!
It was one of those nights that was just completely quiet, cold, and wet. I woke up in the middle of the night because it had gotten way too cold to sleep in my room, even under the blankets, so I decided to get up and grab a glass of water.
I filled up my glass in the sink, and then set it onto the counter while I went to grab an extra blanket, but I was shivering so much that I managed to knock the whole thing over. A full glass worth of water went all over the counter, dripped down the cabinets, and pooled on the floor. Obviously, I panic a little and rush to go grab some paper towel, but when I come back...my glass is still upright and just as full as when I'd filled it earlier! However, all the spilled water was still all over the counter, cupboards, and floor, and there wasn't any water missing from the glass to account for the giant spill! It's like reality half-forgot I spilled my glass.
After I finished cleaning everything, I laid awake for a bit thinking about it and only fell back asleep a while later. It was only the next morning that I realized that my room had warmed back up enough that I didn't need the extra blanket to fall back asleep, either.
I just shrugged it off for a long time. I thought "As if! I must've just imagined it." ...but reading through all these, I don't know anymore. It's nothing too freaky-deaky, but it's one of those memories that really sticks with me. It's one of the only things I can remember super viscerally.

I have a few weird memories like this too - anomalies, things where there's a little skip or bug in time - but I'll admit I never thought too much of them until recently.
As a kid I thought I was just clumsy. When stuff happened at work, I just chalked it up to the fluorescent lights messing with my eyes, or customers fooling around with me.
But the other stories here have got me wondering if all these little incidents are random, or if they're side effects of something bigger.

Sorry for taking a bit to respond. It's been a weird week.p3nr0s3 wrote: ↑October 20th, 2024, 5:47 pm I have a few weird memories like this too - anomalies, things where there's a little skip or bug in time - but I'll admit I never thought too much of them until recently.

I super understand that feeling! I've always had weird things like that: Things that aren't in the place I put them a second ago, completely forgetting something exists a few seconds after starting it until suddenly I run into it again and instantly remember everything I forgot about it, specifically remembering things that literally nobody else who was there remembers...
Heck, dude, apparently there's been construction on the Oak Street Bridge for the past week and a half, and I just somehow managed to not see it up until last Sunday, even though I cross the bridge twice every day on the way to university? And even though it's literally partially dismantled for "seismic upgrades"? Brains are weird!
