I have recieved two reports from two separate individuals I happen to know personally of an occurence at the border of W.V. and OH. just outside Vienna W.V. We will call individual 1 Erika and individual 2 Sophie. This occurence is separated by several months in 1994.

When trying to cross the border into OH, both Erika and Sophie described a strange occurence. Starting in New Parkersburg, they both intended to cross the border via Memorial Bridge, however, the moment they drove up to the bridge, they were suddenly completely convinced they needed to turn around and instead drive up to Vienna and cross there. The problem with that, of course, is there is no crossing from Vienna. The Ohio river separates them entirely. The closest bridge crossing is Memorial Bridge.

Utterly convinced, they drove up to Vienna, and felt compelled to cross in the exact same spot. Erika had a passenger, Sophie did not. When Erika attempted to drive into the river, her passenger managed to take control of the vehicle and steer them away. It managed to 'break the spell' and after a night in a hotel they found themselves able to cross Memorial Bridge the following day.

Sophie, as I mentioned, did not have a passenger. I will copy what Sophie told me from our PM.

"One minute I was crossing Memorial, and then next I was in Vienna, gunning it towards the Ohio River. What pulled me out was a loud voice, a voice that wasn't my own but was in my head like a thought, only, I could hear it like it was said out loud. Only inside? It was a man's voice and it said "COME BACK." I pulled my foot off the gas and swerved just in time to avoid going into the water, and while I was turning I swear there was a figure looking at me from the backseat in my rearview mirror. I wasn't scared, not of the person in the back. I was scared of the river. Terrified of the river. I didn't go to Ohio."

Another detail; both cases happened after midnight on a Wednesday.

These reports indicate two entities. One that lures people to the river, and one that protects them. Do these entities know of each other? Is this a war being waged between forces we don't understand?

Has anyone else heard of this? I am thinking of driving to Vienna.

I don't know if this is related, but one of my roommates in college was from West Virginia (I don't remember from where exactly), and told me a story once about how she remembered this bridge that crossed a river by parents' house. Like, in all her childhood memories, there was absolutely, definitely a bridge there.

Around middle school they moved away, but her freshman year of college, before I met her, she'd taken a little road trip to visit the bridge. But it wasn't there. There wasn't any sign that there had ever been one. She spent like two hours inspecting the area, and then got back in the car, and idled there for a bit, and she says it was like there were two voices talking to her, one on each shoulder.

One voice was all whispery, telling her the bridge was still there, she just couldn't see it, like it was invisible or something, and she should just drive over it to prove it to herself. She started slowly driving the car towards the spot the bridge was. (Or wasn't.)

The other voice was telling her no, don't do it, turn around, drive far far away. It got louder and louder until it was like hundreds of voices screaming inside her head. She ended up stopping just a foot from the slope to the river, and she just booked it right out of there.

She told her parents about remembering the bridge (not about the visit) and they said there'd never been a bridge on that part of the river by their old house, the nearest one was MILES away. She hadn't told anybody about that visit until she told me. She never returned.

Sorry for the dump, again I don't know if this is related to Erika and Sophie's stories. (And also, I'm pretty sure we were both VERY not-sober that night.) But W.V. plus a bridge plus two "entities"...

I don't know. But I do know that I would NOT go to Vienna.

This is extremely interesting, and I have to say based on the details you've written here, I'm convinced they have to be related. It can't be coincidence that three separate people have had this experience to varying degrees.
The fact that your roommate claims both entities were engaging with her at the exact same time is wild. What sort of agreement or disagreement has happened there? Could these just be ghosts with some juiced up power? How did they become so powerful so as to interfere with our reality so intensely? I think they have to be another kind of being altogether. Beings even ghosts want to avoid.

I agree. I won't be going to Vienna. I was planning on looking into this myself, but recently some things in my real life have amped up, so I think exposing myself to more at the moment is a bad idea.
