Welcome to THREAD Investigations. To keep our records clear and ensure the accuracy of reports, we’ve established some guidelines for posting sightings and case files. Please follow these instructions carefully when submitting new information.
Labelling Your Post
Before submitting, please label your post using the appropriate tags in the title. The label should be placed at the very beginning of your post title, enclosed in brackets. The main categories are:
- [][SIGHTING]: For reports of supernatural encounters or unexplained phenomena. [][UNCONFIRMED]: Use this for speculative or questionable sightings that haven’t been verified. This can be used alone or with [SIGHTING].
- [CASE FILE]: Reserved for thoroughly investigated reports that have been reviewed and approved by a Red Thread Moderator. Do not use this label unless your post has been specifically confirmed.
When writing your post, clearly indicate the nature of the report at the top:
- []First-Hand: Direct encounters witnessed by the person submitting the report. These should include as much detail as possible, including time, location, and conditions of the event. []Second-Hand: Reports heard from another source. Please include the origin of the story, any corroborating evidence, and the degree of credibility.
- Removed: For sightings that have been debunked or deemed as false reports. These should be marked and archived but not deleted, as they serve as valuable references for future investigations.
Posts may only be labeled as [CASE FILE] if they have been reviewed and approved by a Red Thread Moderator. To submit a report for case file consideration:
- []Post under the [SIGHTING] or [UNCONFIRMED] label. Indicate in the body of your post that you wish to request a review. []A Red Thread Moderator will review your post. If approved, the post will be relabeled as [CASE FILE] and moved to the appropriate sub-forum.
- Approval Criteria: The report must include detailed evidence, a logical sequence of events, corroborating witness statements (if applicable), and any supporting documentation such as photographs or recordings.
- []Do not edit the original post without moderator approval if your report has been labeled [CASE FILE]. Instead, add updates in the comments section. []Include all known details about the event, even if they seem insignificant. Small details can often be crucial.
- Respect privacy. Do not post identifying information about individuals involved unless they have consented to it. Use pseudonyms if necessary.
Let’s work together to keep our investigations organized and credible. Thank you for contributing to THREAD Investigations and for helping us unravel the mysteries that dwell in the shadows.
